Hi Michelle, welcome!
Many users find that upon following the guided setup where they set the loss rate pulldown to 2 lbs/week they end up with 1200 cal/day. This is likely because their current weight above target/healthy weight isn't sufficient to sustain a 2 lbs/week loss (1000 calories/day). Typically, this loss rate is only healthy and sustainable for those who have a significant amount of weight to lose and this calorie level is usually only appropriate for short/small-framed women.
Here is one set of commonly cited guidelines for picking an appropriate loss rate.
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lb/week is ideal
If you have 15-25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lb/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lb/week is ideal
If you provide your pertinent stats (current weight, height, age, and sex) myself and other users will be able to provide more detailed advice to help you meet your goals.0
