New to this and need support!

Hey all! I have tried a lot of different things to try to get healthier and lose weight but nothing seems to stick. I think this sounds like a great program and I hope by logging my food it will help hold me accountable. I have 70 lbs to lose and it is beyond daunting. If anyone has any tips to help break bad habits of caving and giving in to our cravings please send them my way. Thanks!

What helped me the most is not putting temptations in my path if i did not buy said junk food i would not eat it.

I would also buy a single serving of something even if it costs more just so that temptation would not be there.

Moderation by logging your food an planning your MFP diary in advance helps to guide you so that you know in advance if you have enough calories.

It also helps to share your diary with friends at least so that they can give an get ideas on helping when you get stuck.

Taking it one day at time is the best advice to give yourself, logging your food, sticking to your calorie limit and not using gained calorie allowance from exercise or steps and you are on your journey to your target

I think it is helpful to not thinking about all the weight you have to lose, because that can seem overwhelming. I find mini-milestones helpful to give a sense of accomplishment. Keep in mind that the diary is important - it keeps one honest and is also helpful information to analyze what one is eating.
