The first covers accurate logging and some of the tools in MFP to help you make things easier. The second discusses caloric needs and setting goals. These two posts completely changed my MFP experience and helped me be much more successful, so I hope they do the same for you.

I am just starting my weight loss journey. I have some medical issues that will reduce my ability to do some exercises; but I am really determined to make myself healthier. I am in my mid 50's and have a bad back and a knee that is put together with pins and a metal plate. I also have numerous dietary restrictions. I cannot have any dairy, lettuce, seeds, anything with carbonation or caffeine of any kind. I am looking for suggestions that would help me in reaching my weight loss goal.
