Biking for 1.5 hours @ ~13MPH really burns 800 calories?

I use the estimate of approx. 100 cal for every 5 km.
So you did 19.5 miles in 1.5 hours. That's 31 km. So ... about 620 calories. Roughly.
And interestingly, I've found that matches Strava pretty closely.
Sometimes, if I really don't feel like I've put in much of an effort, I'll go as low as 80 cal/5 km
The amount you sweat is no indication. I can sweat buckets in a hot flash when I'm just sitting there wishing it would sudden snow on me.
A HRM probably won't improve the estimate, my HR can go up in anticipation of a climb, while I'm still riding on flat ground hardly putting in an effort, and then settle down about 1/3 of the way up a climb.
A power metre will improve the estimate.0
