Hi! My name is Daniella and I’m new to this app. I got it because I would like to keep track of the food I’m in taking in order to make healthier decisions. I’m looking to maintain my weight while eating a better selection of foods. I figured I would start by just eating the way I normally do for a week or two and then looking to see what changes I should make. My question is, how do you input food you get from restaurants and such? They don’t have the nutritional information on the menus everywhere and it’s making it difficult for me to get started on my diary. Any help would be appreciated!

A lot of restaurant chains are already in the database. You should be able to type the name of the place and the dish and it should pop up. If it is not in the database but you can find the nutrition information elsewhere, you can create a entry for the database. Unfortunately for things that aren't in the database and also not listed anywhere else online, you just kind of have to guesstimate or use something similiar. I try not to regularly dine at places that don't list their nutritional information. A lot of restaurants are starting to post this information which is helpful.2

I know McDonald's has an allergy book you can look through, which lists ingredients of all their items with their caloric values. Other restaurants may have something similar, so you could ask when you're there, and input manually in My Foods for future reference.1
