57 Y.O. This my first round.
9/05 280.8 Started on eating plan
yesterday, didn't weigh so using
today's number as my start.
9/06 278.4 great start. Traveling for work
today. Flying always throws me off. Today though, I amfeeling like I can do it!
9/07 276.8 managed to stay focused!
9/08 277.6 So much to do today!
9/09 276.2 My energy level is great. Six hour drive coming up today then staying in a hotel, my home away from home, for 4 days. Solo drives are always a challenge for me because I want to snack. I need to master eating right while not having a kitchen. Have a relaxing Sunday!!
9/10 275.4 Made the drive with ease. New week ahead. Let's go!
9/11 275.4 yes, I did pack my scale for this road trip. No change today. I will take it.
9/12 274.4 Happy to see more progress. I had dinner and played cribbage with an old friend last night. Managed to only go over my carb limit by a couple yesterday. Progress, in my mind. In the past I most likely would have went off the rails in favor of someone else's meal desires.
9/13 275.4 Probably too many almonds yesterday. And everything I ate was salty. Road trip back home this afternoon.

9/5 151.2 What's working:
*Eating what I want, but consciously.
*Letting go of guilt.
*Staying active doing things I like instead of calling it "exercise"
*Focusing on myself instead of what needs to change outside of me
*Logging in here daily
*Realizing we are all the same, just doing the best we can with the tools we have
*Skipping meals- just because it's "lunch time" etc. doesn't mean I have to eat. Listening to my body.
9/6 151 I feel like something has shifted, and this is getting easier. NSV- finally got back out on my mountain bike yesterday for a nice hilly ride, taught my 16 yo son a new recipe that he cooked for dinner for the fam, got my DH out on the bike too. I can't wait to see the 140's and they are within reach!!!
9/7 152.2 Not worried about this I feel great! Another hilly ride, cooking with my son, and walked the dogs! Gearing up for a great weekend, seeing the grandbabies again tomorrow. Have a wonderful day everyone!
9/8 151.4 I had a good day yesterday, FINALLY getting my DH moving with me! It is so much easier when we are both working together, but I have learned to lead by example and not nag, suggest, hint, or ask him to get active/eat better/etc. This is the part about "focusing on myself instead of what needs to change outside of me". When I am taking better care of myself I want everyone around me to also do the same, but I know that everyone has their own limits and timelines and needs to come to their own conclusions. I cannot make someone motivated, but maybe instead inspire them by taking better care of myself. We went on a morning walk, not my usual hilly fast burn since he was with me, but I am happy to pull it back and slow my progress if it means he will come along! I spent the afternoon with my sis helping her prepare for her big annual Tapas party, peeling potatoes for patatas bravas, making albondigas, chopping fruit for sangria...great girl talk and wonderful to cook together since we never do! Today is the party, my plan is to have a protein breakfast then to fast (as difficult as that may be with all the yummy food) I think it is the safest plan to eliminate the stress eating and weight gain that will show up if I do otherwise! Got home from a busy day and my 16yo son was learning to make beef stroganoff with my DH, overall a win win day!
9/9 152.4 My plan to fast gained an "e" and turned into a Feast. There were just too many hours at my sis's (noon-10 pm) and too much amazing Spanish food to stick to the original plan. I had a great day, held my grandbabies for a good long spell and got those baby love feelings going! Didn't drink enough H2O so today my focus is on hydration, going for a walk, and self care. Yesterday took 2 walks before the party, and reached an all time high of over 20k steps, so that is a win! Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in, looking for a drop below last week's 151.8, could be a stretch, but I am eating smart today, so lets make this happen, body of mine!
9/10 WEIGH IN DAY 150.6 Learning so much about my body! Love that I am so close to the 140s!! Planned hilly walk today and mountain bike too with DH. There is this concept I use, the Wheel, where if one spoke of your wheel is not where you want it, your road is bumpy, and you can't have the momentum you seek. My wheel with this increased physical activity is getting much more aligned, and I feel the pull towards my vision of being fit, happy, active and growing!!! Plus NSV DH is finally getting on board with me- makes it so much more fufilling :-)
9/11 151 Good day until I forgot how to unclip on my bike and fell over. Skinned elbows and bruised butt but mostly hurt ego. I was ticked off for a good hour after that. But I got over it. I thought I could control my addiction to this one type of protein bars, and bought an asst. to my demise...I ate 3 yesterday totalling over 600 calories. I could have had something so much better for that. I really considered not logging the third bar, but who was I hiding from? Myself? It reminds me of when I would sneak food and dispose of the evidence, bury the bag in the trash etc, comical really because I was only fooling myself. No one else was watching. Live and learn. I won't be buying the bars in in bulk, maybe just one once in a while. They are kinda gross but good, not sure why I like them! In my head I would much rather eat an eclair or cake or other real goodies!
9/12 150.6 Super emotionally draining day yesterday, and last night I felt a sore throat coming on, but overall as far as eating and moving a good day. I am so inicredibly blessed in my life and grateful to have tools to deal with the inevitable bumps.
9/13 149.4 Sick with a cold yesterday and still kinda today, probably dehydrated, but so happy to see this number today.

•9/5 - 182.8 - Gee, I thought I had posted this. My son called me for some reassurance concerning my DGD early this morning. He wasn't sure that she would be able to find her classroom. Kindergarten classes are at the very back end of the school. Parents cannot enter the school with the children. First child in elementary school parent jitters. His baby. Not quite 100 ozs of water yesterday, which is MUCH better than the last 4 or 5 days. I have a couple of homegrown cucumbers from a friend. I added some thin slices to my lemon water. I'm shedding water like crazy.

•9/11 - 181.8
•9/12 - 182 - I feel waterlogged and tired. I need electrolytes to balance this body fluid. I don't think I've had any for a week :dissapointed: and I need them every day.

9/05 -- 141 - 1316 - 10-day ave 1232
Hot day coming up here, but beautiful and clear. It will be cold soon enough, so I'm enjoying the sun and heat. I put together a bag of clothes that no longer fit (and a few things that no longer make me happy) and I'll be taking those to a local women's shelter today or tomorrow. All good!
9/06 - 142 - 1136 - 10-day ave 1227
There's the bump I expected yesterday from Monday's splurge. My moving average is 141.2. All good.
9/07 - 140.8 - 1000 - 10-day ave 1198
I'm excited to see that zero, even with a big decimal! Going to a potluck this evening but we're taking a shrimp plate, so at least I can eat that. Have a great weekend, all!
9/08 - 141 - 1185 - 10-day ave 1218
I made a stab at entering calories from the potluck. Happily, there was plenty of food I could eat (I was afraid I'd get 2 pieces of shrimp and a few baby carrots!). But no, I was quite full by the end. I'm making the most of the weekend as things get crazy this week - teaching a new writing class, taking a new class, integrative doctor & dietitian appointments, on top of usual work (writing). I'm still debating buying a standing desk -- anyone here use one? I may just take my laptop to Office Depot and ask if I can stand there and type for a while to see if I like it.
9/09 - 141 - 1208 - 10-day ave 1231
I see this last pound is going to be tough to lose. That's ok - I'm just as stubborn.
9/10 - 140.6 - 1202 - 10-day ave 1229
Creeping down.... It's chilly and rainy here, so I'm off to the Y later to walk. I am looking forward to beautiful autumn days - October is my favorite month.
9/11 - 140.6 - 1254 - 10-day ave 1230
My Monday & Tuesday meal schedules are messed up for the next 6 weeks due to evening classes (taking one, teaching one). I'm trying to eat a big lunch to hold me until I get home around 9, then have some fruit, but last night I came home really hungry. Maybe I'll try a decent lunch and a light supper around 4:30. Another work in progress!
9/12 - 140.4 - 1143 - 10-day ave 1220
Almost, almost... (No matter what my ticker says, I still have half a pound to go - but almost....)
9/13 - 140.6 - 1214 - 10-day ave
I'd really like to hit 140 in the next couple of days as it looks like I'm going to have to take a short course of prednisone and I'd like as low a starting weight as possible. Sigh. Not happy about it but need to reduce inflammation, and the anti-inflammatory diet isn't working fast enough. Hopefully the pain will dissipate and I can get back to my regular long walks to counteract the potential weight gain from. I'm also aiming for as low sodium as possible to minimize water retention. Anyone who's taken pred have any other tips for minimizing potential side effects?

@Snowflake1968 HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
@cpanus Chris, Zicam nasal gel was recommended to me by a nurse I worked with ages ago. That stuff was great so of course they took it off the market and reformulated it. I understand that some people had issues with it affecting their ability to smell but why not put a warning on it and continue to market it.
@eminater Congrats!
@sue_01 Continuing prayers.3 -
I'm in!

Day/Weight/Comment

No bread, sugar, root vegetables, tomatoes or fruit and aside from a bite of beet, tomato and watermelon that I made by mistake (prepping dinner zoneout) I have stayed faithful to the plan. I am stunned. I am thrilled!!!!! Down 5.4 lbs so far!

9/13 -167.2 - Day 7 - well there it is. I strayed and weight numbers show it. Ate more sugar than I have all week - watermelon and tomato. Now I know. Still, down 6.8 lbs!
9/1410 -
Happy Birthday! @Snowflake1968
@SheilaBoneham, So happy to see that you have one half pound to go! So sorry you have to take prednisone. I was reading about some side effects from it just this morning. It was given to my GD in the hospital to relieve the swelling in her throat. I'll let you know if I find any information that can be helpful.3 -

9/5 / 221.8 / I'm a bit sore today and this is an early weigh in so the bump in weight is completely expected. I think this is going to be a sweet round. I hope everyone is feeling as optimistic as I am!
9/6 /221.8 / Second verse, same as the first! I was HUNGRY last night, but I was able to stay within calories and didn't gnaw on anybody.
9/7 / 220.2 / Early weigh in, so this is excellent progress. Got some terrible news yesterday that I'm still trying to process.
9/8 / 220 / That puts me at an even 32 pounds lost. I actually have ribs. Who knew?
9/9 / 220.2 / I did crunches yesterday. Not all forms of exercise make me get a bump up in weight, but crunches do. I find that really interesting. I'm planning on doing lots of crunches in the coming days, so I expect some variability in weight. Of course, I also ate over calories because of movie theater popcorn yesterday, so I'm not sure why I'm singling out crunches!
9/10 / 220.6
9/11 / 221.6
9/12 / 222.2
9/13 / 221.8 / I mentioned above that I received horrible news recently. It's a cancer diagnosis for my husband. The prognosis is excellent, but I am still processing and it's throwing me for a loop off-and-on.14 -

Day/Weight/Comment
9/05, 226, Pretty sure I didn't lose 3 lbs overnight. I'm probably dehydrated.
9/06, 225, Yeah, this must be water weight. 4 lbs in 2 days is nonsense.
9/07, 225, Well ok then.
9/08, 225, Surprised cause I've been eating junk at FanX.
9/09, 225, Still surprised, but this is cool I guess.
9/10, 226, Pizza and wine last night. Foolish.
9/11, 230, Period started, hello bloat! I've also been eating junk, gotta rein it in.
9/12, 227, My weight is everywhere this week. Ate a lot better yesterday though.
9/13, 226, Ate better yesterday. Let's just stay right here to end this round right!

@denswrex Summer colds suck! My nose is running like a faucet and my right eye is watering like crazy! Why only the right? Who knows! Take care of yourself and feel better soon!
@puttyputty I’m so sorry to hear about your husband. Will add you both to my prayers.2 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

9/12 133.5 Felt really crummy yesterday. Missed DGD’s first volleyball game of the season. Sucked on zinc drops all day, scratchy throat, runny nose. No appetite. Finally asked DH to go to Jimmy John’s. #9 Unwich for me, #9 and Jimmy Chips for him. I ate 2 small chips and threw the 3rd one back. They just didn’t taste good. It’s amazing how your tastebuds change after avoiding all the crap for over a year! Sneezy and runny nose still today. UGH!

@quiltingjaine My eyes water all day every day, right more than left. The upper lid of my right eye has been chapped for months. Itches, burns, and looks like hell.5
-
@jerier I’m sorry to hear that! That “woo” was meant as a “WOW!” Have you asked a doctor about it? Mine is usually allergies so this morning I took a decongestant for the runny nose and an antihistamine for the runny eye. I’m glad nothing else is runny!0

9/05 160 went over on calories yesterday and had a late dinner.
9/06 160 So often I feed the kiddos and get busy with household duties, put them to bed and realize I haven't eaten dinner (and then it's late). We used to all sit down and eat together, but since the new baby it's hard to do sometimes. Going to work on that. I always enjoyed sitting down as a family at dinner time. It'll also help that I'm not eating so late as well.
9/07 159 I was sooo happy to see this number this morning! Yesterday I did great with my water (90 oz/2.66 liters), I have been forgetting to drink it so haven't gotten as much as I should lately. Under on calories, only had half my daily sugar and around 90 carbs.
9/08 159.5 Good day yesterday but ate a little late last night. Today is game day, so there will be finger foods. Hopefully I'll stay in my calorie range.
9/09 159 I did eat finger foods yesterday for the game, but didn't over indulge. Actually was full after what I ate, even though it wasnt very much. 😊
9/10 158.5 😊 stayed under yesterday and was a very low carb/sugar day. I have been aiming to do some type of exercise each day (I don't count housework because I'm constantly doing it with 3 kids, 4 if you count Hubby 😂). Didn't get any exercise in and felt guilty about it, but I know I shouldn't because I have been almost every day.
9/11 158 Another good day staying under, although ate pasta for dinner. Haven't had pasta in a long time. Only had a serving but felt like I was retaining fluid last night, especially in my hands. Drank a lot of water last night so feeling better this morning!
9/12 158 yesterday was a little tough because I was hungry all day. Stayed under though and got through it.
9/13 158 very high carb day yesterday. Plan to do better today!
