Hi all
I am new here currently weigh 90kg at 5ft1 is not good. Target is 65kg !
So far have joined the gym and do at least 5 sessions a week including swimming, horse riding, Pilates and lots of dog walking. Burning 600-800 calories a day.
I have been using the app for a week now with target intake of 1600 calories and most day I struggle to eat enough !
So far 3 weeks at gym feel firmer but no loss yet
Hope it will start soon. Any tips or advice welcome

Dont feel discouraged. Good weight loss doesnt necessarily come off fast. Your body is reorganizing the fats carbs and protein usage to conform to your new wirkout habbit. Next your body will start transforming the fat to muscle to accomidate your new workout program, you might actually gain a little for a short period. Then the magic appears after a solid month where your weight will shed.
You should also vary your workouts to keep your body guessing. Think of it this way, your body is an energy saver and your body will want to make it easy for you to do your activity more easily. So if your body doesnt adapt it will keep shedding pounds.
Just remember there will be a point your body will plateau for a long period but just keep with it.

Please disregard horrible advice.
Your body burns calories 24/7, not just when you're exercising.
If you're overweight, aiming to lose weight, and struggle to eat enough, chances are you're eating more than you think. Check your logging.
One week is too little time to see any meaningful change on the scales.
With new exercise, your body may be retaining water for muscle repair.0 -
Thank you. Before I started exercising I never had breakfast, sometimes had a sandwich for lunch and main meal was dinner. I did drink a couple of bottles of wine a. Week
Since exercising I have cut the wine and have been more hungry so started to use the app to see actually how much I am eating and suspect wasn’t eating enough before. So started having regular breakfast and lunch.
I will do a couple of weeks tracking then start to tweak macros see if upping protein helps.
Averages looks pretty close to target though for week 1.
It’s a learning curve for sure and looking forward to the journey ahead
my scales say 48 fat 35 water and 18 muscle (taken with pinch of salt)

Make sure you're weighing all of your food with a food scale in grams (cups for liquids) and choosing accurate database entries. You didn't mention if you're doing this, and if you're struggling to eat what you think is 1600 calories, you might actually be eating a lot more than that. You don't get to be overweight by not eating enough. Macros don't matter very much for weight loss.0

Lmao explain horrible advice? You should always vary your workouts and keep with it.
Just because your body burns 24/7 doesnt mean eating is soley the issue. She never explained her habits. If your body needs 1600 calories, it doesnt make it safe and wise to eat 1000 calories. Then your body will lower its metabolism and store as much energy as it can to prevent starving to death.
My only additional advice to give is drink at minimum 8 bottles of water a day. Especially before you eat.1 -
Thanks I will double check the accuracy.
The weight went on over several years and giving up smoking and some other depressing things made me essentially not exercise at all for over a year. I have gotten more active over last year but then suffered bad back. Have now had injections and feel good. Hence joining the gym and really starting to work at it. Medication for depression and early menopause may also be contributing to things.
Gonna be a challenging journey but ready for it.0
