50 and not so nifty !

Hello, I have been playing at this get fit thing for a few years now, I have been starting to jog once a week for the last month or so and starting to enjoy it, I do have a gym membership, really hard to get motivated, now I have indulged in a fitness tracker watch and got into this myfitnesspal, and I have to say I love it, motivation is slowly coming back with my aim being to get fit, keep fit and loose a bit of weight in the process, trouble is,,,,, I love food !!!!

I know how you feel. I'm over 50 too and find it hard sometimes to get motivated. I am finding that if I take a walk everyday after dinner it seems to help get me going. Now I am taking walks in the morning before work and even jogging some. I love food and love to cook, so my wife and I have recently started the Keto diet and are loving it. My wife has lost over 40lbs and I have lost more than 35lbs in two short months. It seems the more I lose the more motivated I am. But the walking every day helps.

I don't think you problem is that you love food, I think it's that you rely on motivation.
Food is good and to be enjoyed, but not abused. You can eat anything in moderation.

Loving food is true for most of us  all you have to do is eat less of it.. well done on getting moving - keep it up

Track your food, including weighing it. It will give you a better idea of how many calories you're consuming. Start by doing it for two weeks without changing anything.
