Green box, white checkmark

Good Afternoon - I am new to MFP and was wondering what the green box with the white check-mark means? I only see it next to some foods and assume it means it is the better choice but I'm not sure. Thanks!

    I believe it means that particular item has been verified as correct.

    It means a certain number of users have clicked the box on the item confirming that the entry is correct. Unfortunately, they are not always actually correct!

    I've always assumed that it was the correct cals listed too but nope I've ran into some really off amounts
