Apple cider vinegar

Does it really work? I've seen a lot of YouTube videos that recommend it and plenty of success stories and not just for weight but other health issues such as insulin, cholesterol etc, but I'm wondering if anyone's actually tried it and if it works!

Ask yourself this Ecque.
If it really worked would there be any fat people around?
If it really worked wouldn't there be aisles full of competing brands shouting out about their special formula in every supermarket?Sorry it doesn't work for fat loss. For that you need CICO
PS Do a quick search there are daily posts asking this question all get the same replies4 -
Can't hurt in the sense that you won't die from drinking it....but it won't help either. So if you like sour things, then drink it for that reason.0

No, it doesn't work. There is some correlation between acetic acid and better glucose control but 1) it is still being studied to see if is a help and 2) it is the acetic acid in vinegar so all vinegars will have the same effect. Make fresh vinaigrette dressing for your salads and you are good. No need to spend money on one fancy type of vinegar and down shots of it.2 -
If I started a rumor right now that apple cider vinegar helped couples conceive and it grew popular in a matter of time there would be a percentage of people who will get pregnant within 2 weeks of starting an ACV regiment. Some of them will post it on social media and perhaps even create youtube videos. It will be coincidental and it won't change the fact that a woman gets pregnant when an egg is fertilized.4

This^^^ Reminds me of when my professor was teaching the idea that cause doesn't equal correlation. The example was ice cream and murder (this was a criminology class lol) The sale of ice cream is high during the summer, and more murders occur during the summer. But that doesn't mean that people who buy ice cream become killers in the summer. Or does it? lol
Sorry that was highly irrelevant, but that idea still amuses me for some dumb reason.6 -

Not irrelevant at all! Causation vs correlation is huge when vetting this sort of thing.
People who are choking down ACV every day want it to work so bad that they eat better, stick to their exercise schedule better, and those things will help them lose some weight. But they credit the ACV, not the work they did. It's honestly how most of these fads work. Buying in with hope for the magic pill basically makes you more compliant6 -
I tried it and i can't get over the taste. What do you guys think about MCT Oil?3

MCT won't help with weight loss, but it can help provide quick energy if you are about to work out and you need something while following a ketogenic diet. Since it's metabolized in the liver, it can provide energy within 30 minutes (similar to glucose), where most fats take about 3 hours to breakdown and convert to energy.
Just beware that it can cause stomach cramping in some people, especially at higher doses.2
