So the other day I went looking for some high waisted denim shorts. I went to a couple different stores and they were sold out. Outside Levi's there was a rack of $14 shorts. I couldn't find the sizes on the tags, they would say like 2 or 4 but that clearly wasn't the size (maybe the style??) because multiple shorts that were clearly different sizes had that same number. So i just grabbed a pair of shorts that appeared high waisted and went to try them on, couldn't find the size so I figured whatever i'll just try them. I tried them on and they fit fine, but I didn't love the color so I (forgetting they were on a $14 rack) checked the tag to see the price and there it said the size also. Size 2....and they fit....awesome!

but i've never had levi's before so I was wondering..how do they run? small, large, true to size?? anyone know?

DO feel good. But pants and shorts with a high waistband tend to be sized for older women (me!) with larger hips. If you go for their trendier clothes aimed at teens/tweens they'll be smaller.

I think it depends on the cut of the particular Levis, the different styles are cut differently even in the same brand. The only way to tell is to try on some other styles in Levi, and other brands in a 2.

I still find it much easier to fit smaller sizes with a high waist or a very low one. It's the regular 'modern' waist that tends to have the very slim fit.

But it doesn't matter. Congrats! (And it matters what the cut and brand and maker is.

I'm going to say middle of the road, because I own brands both smaller and larger for the size than the Levi's I have. But with rampant vanity sizing, who knows!
