Has anyone ever done a Water Fast?

I am just at the start of my weightloss and cleansing journey and was thinking about doing a 3 Day Water fast to detox and improve my skin and digestive issues. I cannot seem to find much info on how long to prepare for a water fast. I am curious if anyone here in this commuity has done one and what you can share with me? Also, I am looking for friends and support so if you can relate please add me.

Fasting does zip for healthy sustainable weightloss (but it can make you hungry and lethargic, I mean). If you have a functioning liver and kidneys, you don't need anything else to detox. I'm really not sure how depriving yourself of nourishment is supposed to improve how your body functions. You'd think that it would need fuel to run efficiently.15

Isn't healthy and wouldn't help any issues.9

I have a freelancer who is fasting this week. I got some work out of them yesterday; nothing today >.<
I did a week long juice and Medifast fast 16 or so years ago. Because it was at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, I enjoyed the experience, but do not recommend fasting as a way to jump start weight loss, or detox, etc.2 -
Water fasts are not supported or recommended here. I will say after switching other beverages for water, my skin is very happy. No need for a water fast to achieve that. You didn't elaborate on your digestive issues, but losing weight has also completely eliminated my reflux.5

Considering fasting has been around since (before?) written history, I highly doubt it's going to seriously hurt anything.
That being said, the supposed "benefits" are highly subjective and not really proven, either. Lots of woo websites that promote it, but I haven't seen much of anything in the way of actual scientific studies showing any real health benefits, either - but, it's not something I've personally researched as I don't see the point in it.
If it's something you really want to do, do it for yourself and your reasons, but realize it's probably not doing anything for you in terms of your health.7 -
Your skin and digestion probably won't improve in three days just by drinking water. Skin is a complex organ and your digestive system is even more complicated than that. It can take months of eating more optimally to see any benefits.7

So long as you have functional kidneys and a liver, you don't need to "flush out toxins", that's what your organs do.
It takes a lot longer on a mostly healthy diet with good hydration to see the affects on skin and digestion. A good month or so at minimum.5 -
I did one unintentionally. It was called a hangover. I felt like crap and only left my bed to pee.7
