Hi, I'm a dad who's desperately trying to escape this Dad bod thing

Hello everyone!
As the title says, since becoming a father 4 years ago(I know, excuses 😂) I've been trying to rid myself of this Dad bod that seeems to have over stayed it's welcome.
My. Name's Chad and I have two amazing daughters who keep me active in their own right. I enjoy running around with them.
I recently started last week to wake up at 530a 5x per week to make sure I am working on my best self. I was not dialed in on recording my calories so I was overeating all of last week and this week, I started tracking today instead of Monday. I'm working on it!
With a starting weight of 284lbs, I have a long way to go but I'm going to remain dedicated to my goal and I'll get there!
Feel free to add me as a friend, as an accountability partner, a person to also help you stay motivated. I'm looking for motivation partner's, accountability partners and friends 😁

I gotta be honest: I can't remember how to add a friend. Add me, if you like.
I'm father of 3.5 years (the boy is 3.5, the girl is 9 months) and I've also held onto the dad bod (let's be honest, it was that *kitten* sympathy weight...) for way too long. I recently got fed up, especially after yo-yo-ing with my weight a few times. It sucked.
I finally got truly fed up.
I'm down 15 pounds in the last month and a half. I'll share what's worked so far: CONSISTENCY! That and writing stuff down.
I set a weight goal based on losing eight pounds per month. I started a month and a half back. I set the deadline between then and my daughter's first birthday. I now see I have the potential to drop from 245 to 215. That would be effing amazing if I truly dropped below 220 by her birthday, and, so far, I'm on track. All of the power is in writing it down, being consistent, and, if I slip up, I don't do so the next day. I bounce back and get back on target.
I weigh myself every day. I think a lot of people will tell you this is unhealthy, but not for me. If I don't weigh myself often, I slip into denial, eat crap, stop exercising, etc. If I weigh myself, and I do note that weight can fluctuate a lot, I stay accountable and motivated to keep losing.
I'll shut up, because I could just keep going and going and going with this. But talk about it a lot! Ask a lot of questions! Share victories and failures! Also, my own power was found in writing it down. I even keep a daily journal with my weight, what I ate, exercise that I did, and a section for failures / successes.
YOU GOT THIS!3 -
I got the dad bod in my 40's and got rid of it in my 50's. Starting earlier is better, easier and healthier for everyone. Tip: if wife has a mom bod either do your weight loss effort together or stifle your comments with her about food, calories, clothing sizes, etc. Trust me on this.4

Hi and welcome! I've been working on my "mom bod" since January 2017, 45 pounds down, 5 to go!
It takes determination and patience. Log everything as accurately as possible, then wait for the process to work!
@JustinAnimal - your body might not lose weight on a predictable schedule, and it will fluctuate, so don't get discouraged if you don't reach your goal by a certain date. Like you said, the important thing is the consistency, and eventually you'll get to goal.2 -
Thanks, Kathryn, since I'm starting out and have plenty to lose, the loss has been fast and steady. I'm ready for it to absolutely plateau and to have to motivate my way through that.2
