Man oh man, I'm sure many of you can agree that on the journey to becoming a more fit and healthier you, there are many lessons you learn. You learn things about food, exercise and even about yourself that you never knew before.
Well what was the hardest thing for you to over come on your journey? What is the biggest, most important thing you have learned so far?
For me I have two. The first one.....
I have learned is something that I have always read, heard and been told but is something I haven't really put into practice until recently. And that is to when you slip up, don't sweat it. But don't turn that one slip up or cheat meal become a cheat or mistake DAY. Because a day can turn into a week and a week can turn into a month. You really have to just not guilt yourself about it wither you meant to eat it or not. Pick yourself up and move forward.
The second....
I have really learned that this is a mind set. In the last four years that I have been struggling until I finally got it right, all that time I have spend doing my research on nutrition and exercise none of it really tells you that this is all about changing your mind set ultimately. Heck, anyone can following a diet plan, listen to someone on what to do in the gym and by following things people can see results. But to see results, to get healthy and truly be healthy and to stay that way and most importantly be HAPPY while being all these others things you need to dig down deep, clean the skeletons out of your closet and change that mind set. Until you do so nothing will seem easy, nothing will last, and you won't feel happy doing the things you need to do to be the healthiest you.
So again, those are mine. What are yours?

I agree with everything you said, especially about the slip up turning into a slip up week or month. This has happened to me a LOT. BUT I refuse to call it quits!
I guess the biggest lesson I've learned so far (and I think I'm a slow learner lol) is that it really does need to be one day at a time. For those of us who truly have an addiction to food, it does not help to sit and feel sorry for ourselves for more then a couple minutes - let's face it, everyone does it at some point. And also, it's important to remember that simple saying "if you fall, get back up and try again".
Great post and great insight0
