Restarting my quest

Hi all,
I have had a roller coaster relationship with weight loss and getting fit. I fell off the ride for about a year and gained a lot of weight again. Being almost 48, with asthma, I know the older I get, if I'm not fit and at a comfortable weight, I'll be having lots of health issues. So, I've decided to get back on the ride.
This time, I'm looking for groups, friends, accountability, etc. Anything that can keep me on the straight path. Along the way, I'd like to help inspire others too. I've created a blog on MFP called Don't Let Life Go to Waist. Basically it'll be my place to record my journey. What works, what doesn't, successes, setbacks, and of course progress.
I'm looking forward to meeting you.

You didn't use the term "wagon", but I wouldn't hesitate to say: There is no wagon. When you think about health and weight management as a quest, path, journey, when you look to other people for motivation, support and accountability, it will still be a roller coaster ride. Losing and maintaining weight is all about eating less. I know you don't deliberately steer into pitfalls, but your subconscious mind is always looking for an excuse for you to quit. Make it easier to continue. The easier and more "normal" you make eating less, the greater your likelihood of success. The harder and more dramatic you make it, the more difficult it will be.1

Very true. And my mind makes it easy to quit too. I'm a stress eater and there's always some stress just in daily life. I'd say changing my mindset is the biggest obstacle for me.1
