I have a recipe that calls for the fatty part of canned coconut milk without the watery part that separates when in the fridge. I’m not sure how to calculate what the calories are.
My best guess is to assume there’s little calories in the watery part and just proportionally calculate the creamy part.
Ex: if the cream weighs 6 oz in a 16 oz can and I consume 3oz of cream, I can multiply 3 by 16/6 to get the weight that portion would have been with the watery part mixed in. In this case 8oz, or half the can.
If anything, this way will over estimate calories.
But does anyone have any better ideas?
