Hi,
I am getting started on putting my fitness routine together. I have been walking and running for a few days now and want to start light strength training (for starters). My goal is to lose weight.
Someone suggested that I take BCAA(before my workout) and Protein shakes (after my workout/run) and that will help me work out longer and lower DOMS?
Is there any specific shakes that have worked well for you guys? A long time ago, a trainer suggested I use Syntha-6.

I take Muscle Pharm Combat Powder (Protein) and Amino1 (BCAAs)...I really like the protein powder. I've been using it for about a year and it is by far my favorite whey protein. As for the Amino1, I've only recently started taking it and so far it's okay. I just don't like the taste.0

I do both the BCAA and whey protein, but also take L-Glutamine at night for recovery. If I've exercised particularly hard, and or have bumps and bruises, I'll add in a bromelain supplement for recovery.
I also take D3 (2000 IU) and Alpha Lipoic Acid (300mg) daily. I've used creatine in the past, but was underwhelmed with the results for the price.0
