What are your weightloss plateau levels?

I noticed that every 5lbs I get stuck on the same weight for several days, and no matter how much I exercised or how little I eat nothing changes. I was actually stuck on the 185lbs level for a whole week before losing 2 pounds. I was so angry I just stopped weighing myself for the whole week until this morning; luckily I just kept eating on my 1,500 calories level for the whole week.
Calories based on MyFitnessPal: 1,500
Net calories for the week: 1,365
height: 5'7"
start weight: 195lbs
current weight: 183lbs
Time Frame: 1 month

No disrespect but in my humble opinion you are weighing way too often. You probably should weigh every other week. But don't know if you realize or not, some people plateau for months at times.11

Forget the idea of plateaus. This is so simple. Your time frame is way too short, and your logging is off. It takes weeks before a weight trend can be seen on the scales. You're supposed to eat at least 1500 calories, but also to log correctly so you don't eat over your target without knowing it. Are you using a food scale?4

When I was losing weight, I weighed every day ... and I never hit a plateau.
Sure, I remained the same weight for a few days at times, but that's not a plateau, that's just a natural part of the fluctuations. A plateau might be when you're at the same weight for a month or more. That didn't happen to me.4 -
Congratulations: You've discovered how weight loss works for pretty much everyone!
Lose a pound or two, hold steady for a few days, lose a pound and a half, gain a pound, hold steady for a few days, lose half a pound, lose half a pound . . . and so on, like a bumpy downhill ride.
You're doing it right. You've lost 12 pounds in a month: That's huuuuge (maybe even too fast, since many of us think that losing more than 1% of your body weight is a health risk - don't believe everything you see on reality TV shows about realistic, healthy weight loss - yikes! 1365 calories isn't enough for most men, and since you're losing so fast it might not be that great for you, health-risk-wise.)
Now that you know it's going to be a gradual downward trend, overlaid with a bunch of small ups and downs (like bumps on a downhill slope), you can be thinking about it right, too.
Best wishes!4 -
Yeah, 5 days isn't a plateau really so I wouldn't get too stressed about it.
I started the year at 160kg (352lb) and had lost consistently for about 8 months straight then mid august I stopped at 126kg (277lb) and bounced back to 129kg (284lb). I then started to fluctuate between 128kg (282lb) and 129kg and stayed like that for about 4 weeks. slightly up, slightly down, slightly up, slightly down and my trend line was flat as a salt pan.
Then last week I started losing again and ended up back at 127kg (279lb) and this week I'm on track to lose again and weight is back into the 126's.
It sucked but that's the way it goes weight loss isn't linear, neat or orderly. I'll bet there were times when I was gaining weight that I ate like a unsupervised 6 year old for weeks on end without gaining too.
I new if I just kept doing what I'd done before things would eventually start moving again.0 -
I go up and down on the scale depending on many things including hydration levels, sodium intake... even when my calories are under target. I like to weigh daily - it's just part of what keeps me motivated however I do not focus on the number of the day compared to the day before. Instead, I track it in excel and average out my daily weigh ins for the last 7 days. When I do that, I see that I am consistently moving downwards. I hear many people use a weight trending app but I am a data junkie and like to do it myself. As an example, here's a graph of my tracking - blue is the averaged daily weight and orange is the actual daily weight:
