Anyone not doing Keto but eating low carb and losing weight?

Hi! I was wondering if there’s anyone who’s not doing Keto but eating low carb? How many carbs would you say you eat a day and are you losing weight?
I’ve tried Keto for a month and while it worked great, I had two cheat meals and literally fell off from there. Also, eating dairy often would cause my eczema to return which pretty much sucked. It was so hard to get back into Ketosis after I fell off and I’m trying to find the motivation again. I’m trying to lose the last 10lbs and I’m having quite a hard time. Can I lose the last 10 lbs eating low carb (50g a day / total carbs not net) while not exercising often? I love my Ezekiel bread and brown rice lol. Has anyone had success hardly working out and just overall eating healthier? How much weight have you lost and how fast did you lose it?

Is there a specific reason why you want to eat low carb? You can eat carbs and lose weight it just has to fit into your calorie goal.
Weight loss comes from CICO, and the last little bit is the hardest. You have to tighten up the logging, weigh and track EVERYTHING.
Exercise isn't required for weight loss, it can help build a bigger deficit each day and has great health benefits but weight loss all comes from calories.
As for how long it'll take, how long is a piece of string? Everyone is different.8 -
Any calorie-reduced diet that puts your body in a calorie deficit over time will result in weight loss. You don't have to do keto to achieve that if you find it unsustainable. If you find low carb, moderate carb, or high carb more sustainable you can rest assured no matter what you choose you will lose weight. You don't even have to eat healthier to achieve that, although it's encouraged.
The answer to the question "will I lose weight on [fill in any diet]" is always "yes, if you can sustainably stay in a calorie deficit more often than not long enough to reach your goal". What does that mean? Pick a way of eating that makes it the easiest for you to stay within calories and have no doubt that you'll lose weight if your calories are on point. Other people's success on any type of diet means nothing because what's sustainable for others may not be for you.
As for "how fast", unless you're unhealthily and severely undereating, the last few pounds tend to come off the slowest and require the tightest logging more often than not.6 -
I lost weight and reached my goal weight while eating between 150-175 grams of carbs a day. You do not need to go low carb to achieve your goal. In fact, time and again studies have shown that long-term, there is no difference in weight loss between a low carb and a high carb diet. You just need to eat less than you burn over an extended period of time. How quickly you lose will depend on how big your deficit is but unless you are morbidly obese you really should not be losing more than 1 pound a week for healthy weight loss. With only 10 pounds to go you should only be looking at around 1/2 pound a week.1

Low carb high fat moderate protein is how we eat. Note that the fat is 'good fat' from nuts, avocado, etc.2

The bad news: the last 10 pounds will be slow. Some posters with this little to lose, especially women, only see weight loss once a month, especially after their period.
The good news: you don't need to do keto, or even low carb, in order to lose weight. All that is necessary is a calorie deficit and patience.
I know plenty of healthy and fit vegans who are likely eating upwards of 60% carbs.3 -
You'll find people here who lost the last 10 lbs eating 15g of carbs, 50g, 100g, 150g, 200g... Calories are king for weight loss, macros help with satiety (and a healthy diet). Whatever macro balance helps you hit your calorie goal will work (For me it was @ 200g)
As others have mentioned, the last 10 lbs are typically very slow to come off. You just don't have much wiggle room at that point. Patience is key, and it may be a good idea to start to transfer your goal setting to behavior or fitness goals, rather than relying on the scale to be the sole measure of "success". Good luck!4
