Help with Macros

Hello! I am new here(just signed up), and I was wondering if someone could clarify for me how serious you should follow macros? When I made my profile, a screen popped up showing me my macros. I believe it was about 96g of p, 63g of f, and 200 something of carbs!! I am new here like I said, but does this not seem high?? Any help would be ppreciated

Whether or not you try to stick with certain macros is really up to your personal goals and preferences. I lift weights and prioritize retaining what muscle I've built so I eat in line with that goal. Other people aren't as concerned with that so they may not eat as much.
As far as your macros seeming high...remember that macros are just the different nutrients that are part of the food you eat and each have a calorie value. Protein and carbs are 4 calories per gram. Fat is 9 calories per gram. Based on that, it looks like your goal is about 1750 calories per day. Nothing looks unusually high there to me.0 -

Without knowing your stats, activity and how much weight you have to lose this is a difficult question to answer. Instead of focusing on macros take a month to log your calories correctly - weigh your food & log everything you consume using correct entries (no homemade or generic). Once you have mastered that then worry about being precise with macros.0

Macros are personal preference and regardless don't have to be followed exactly. Just use them as a guide. I ate and continue to eat @ 200g of carbs when I lost the weight.
If you struggle to stick to your calorie goal, look at the days where you struggle and see if there is a particular macro that is high or low on those days, then look at the days you do fine and check the same thing. If you notice a pattern, tweak accordingly, as for some people macros affect satiety.1
