My gym has one. People just stand on it for 30 min doing nothing. I doubt it does anything whatsoever apart from maybe placebo...

Vibration machines have been used successfully in the context of physiotherapy for quite a few years and, when used appropriately, have some very real benefits.

The sale of full body vibration machines in the context of weight loss is nothing more than 21st century snake oil. Manufacturers are making ludicrous claims (^^^^increased gravitational forces ???????     somebody failed physics....).

    Don't waste your money......

I don't normally comment on these sorts of things but that list of benefits made me snort

Anyway, I've used one of those and I couldn't tell it made any difference whatsoever.

My local post office manager has one behind his counter that he uses every day. He swears by it and he actually has lost weight. He does the full routine eg push ups on it and it tries to shake him off it so it must have some effect. Not convinced by the fat shrinking he describes, though.

The only way to work out if it works or not is to only use it as the manufacturer describes and not decrease your food intake nor do any other exercise. After all, you can lose weight licking paper as part of a healthy lifestyle incorporating exercise. ;)

Gave me an itchy nose. So didnt do it again.
The ladies I've seen on it are the ones who leave the gym with their make-up intact.
Havent seen any men on them, well apart from on the instructions posters.

It makes me quite skeptical when products claim such a long list of benefits to completely different systems in the body.

Also, "stops aging from occurring?" If we could do that I think it would be the leading news story worldwide and someone would be winning a nobel prize.

I'd be very interested to know what (if any) research is behind this.

I actually have one and its incorporated into my training... I tend to swim 3x a week / strength train 2x or vice versa...

I use the Vibration machine for stretching and to do exercise on not just stand there (standing on it is of no benefit what so ever!) but i do do squats, planks, lunges, bridges I like the added benefit of it while doing them. I actually started it after a knee injury and my physio used one and like it so decided to invest in one... I would never use it as a replacement to exercise just as an add on and most of the claims in my opinion from the above post are absolute crap.
