33 years old, have struggled with my weight pretty much all of my life. Same story as all of you probably - lose, gain, lose, gain, lose, gain.

About a month ago, I found out the local gym offers day care. Hallelujah! First it started as a way of me and the old lady to get a break from our brats for a couple of hours and enjoy the elliptical. It's now turned into full-blown body-building/fat loss. For years, I thought cardio was the answer to everything and that I needed to kill myself at the gym to make any progress. Nope, nope, nope.

I love weight training and being meticulous about the foods I eat and when I eat them. As they say - for every 30 minutes you spend at the gym, you have to spend 1 hour in the kitchen. Have noticed progress in just a couple of weeks already and am looking forward to a lot more progress in the coming months.

Recovery days = brotein days!

Welcome! I hear more and more success stories of people weight training and losing weight better than they did on cardio. If it's working, keep doing it. It's definitely more fun than cardio.
  • Sounds like an awesome plan and great to see it's starting to pay off....bonus is that you also get a slight break from parental life in the process! B)
