Cutting- Keeping it Simple?

Background. I'm 52. Not a big guy nor a big eater. I did manage to get some pounds on and then leaned down. I read a lot on this website about cutting. Seems to be over complicated Most of us are not mass monsters and will not be Ronnie Colemens types. I found the cutting process to be very simple. Eat at a slight deficit and do HIIT 3x a week. I kept my workout and food choices the same. It can't get anymore simple then that can it? Worked for me anyways.

Great job!
I keep it super simple
-Moderate deficit
-Adequate protein
-Progressive lifting
I do add some extras but only after those above are met.5 -
Agree there’s too much overthinking when it comes to cutting. I replied to a guy looking for advice on a thread last night and ther was another guy who posted around the same time who suggested that fat loss is nearly impossible unless you only ate 12-15 egg whites per day and nothing more, maybe some dry toast if you get really hungry... what? Here’s to keeping it simple.5

Two weeks aggressive cut.
3-4 weeks small deficit.
Up my volume a tad as well as protien to just above 1g/lbBW to help retain muscle.
Easy peasy peachy squeezy.2 -
Yep. It is that simple. And it worked for me too. Good job.
There’s still people saying carbs make you fat. Even YouTube doctors. Ugh!2 -
Btw, it looks like your obliques go all the way back to your spine. 👀
That’s amazing!0 -

Indeed. As I wrote in another post. I still had my half serving of serious mass, half bagel and sticky rice during the cut. I should mention I don't eat beef or pork very often. Even when gaining. Maybe a burger twice a year and bacon as a treat 3 or 4 times a year. Chicken, fish and turkey work better for me. Thanks for the obliques compliment.1 -
