The earrings I took off before bed last night. Two more pairs of earrings. A nail buffer. Heel balm. A bra that somehow migrated up from the top drawer of the small dresser that serves as my bedside table and holds my lingerie. And an envelope on which I jotted the date and time of my son's dentist appointment.
