Definite no-no? I've done nothing in 4 days and itching to get moving but don't want to risk injury.

Have any of you done it? I'm not talking tranq type pain relief, just Ibuprofen and Paracetamol.

Aspirin and ibuprofen are in a family called NSAIDs. How they fit in your workout depends on what sort of working out you're doing. For most day to day type training NSAIDs are fine. I've heard that NSAIDs right after weight training will impede muscle growth but I haven't actually seen the research on that. The big warning with NSAIDs are with endurance sports. Training for long events like marathons while on NSAIDs is downright dangerous. It stresses your kidneys and in severe cases will cause kidney failure and require dialysis.

Paracetamol I am not familiar with, I'd say talk to your doc.

Thanks for the advice, I was planning on doing a 40 miler on Sat (cycling) as I’m gearing up for a charity ride, think I’ll wait till next weekend to be safe.

I also read NSAIDs inhibit muscle growth, but haven't seen anything substantial about it.

I forget this site is predominantly US, Paracetomol is a mild analgesic, not in the NSAIDs family.

ibuprofen is much preferred over paracetomol (called acetaminophen in the states). paracetomol combined with alcohol is number one cause of emergency room admissions. pls be careful with them things. paracetomol is the number one cause of liver failure in the US and UK according to wikipedia.
