I love my homies for awhile we were busting out some great bands out of Beantown🤷😉🤗
Pixies, of course! Lots of decent bands from Boston, or at least a number with a few good songs... Morphine's style was different (RIP Mark Sandman)... Modern Lovers (Jonathan Richman is still touring), the Lemonheads (love Evan Dando) & not well known local groups like Think Tree, Cxema, O Positive, Tribe put out some interesting, alternative music way back in the 80-90s. Letters to Cleo had a few good songs as did the Lemmings.
Are you from Boston, TD, or did you live/go to school there for awhile?
Born and raised there girl ...i live only 30 miles away now and am there all the time as my family still there .....and I'm un or fortunately old enough to have seen the Ramones and the Pixies and many others you mentioned Lemonheads and letters to Cleo we were actually just talking about their show we saw (my friend and I )....you know your music chica which makes me dig you even more 🤷😍😎🤘💗💗💗2 -

Awesome. Not from there originally, but lived in Boston a long time in the inner city, 1-mi from the Channel... Whitey Bulger's territory. I remember going to see bands at TT the Bear's & Ground Zero in Central Sq, around the corner from the Middle East... & Bunratty's in Allston. And, of course the Rat, which was aptly named. Tough crowds much of the time.
Must have been awesome to see those bands. Great memories for you, I'm sure.
I'm currently listening to Gang of Four, 1983 in Germany, "Natural's Not in It".
If interested, their 1981 Zagreb concert is on YTube, all 30+ min. Great sound in that one.

The ever jittery & nervous-voiced Richard Hell & the Voidoids, "Blank Generation", 1970s CBGBs...

Iggy Pop "Wild America".
One of the few men that could scare me under a dumpster just by walking towards me...

The bathroom at the Rat was the stuff of nightmares. The film Saw can't rival the horror of that room.
Ah, the Southie-Eastie contingency unites! Big up to the Bay staters!1 -

Crimson and Clover in whatever original/cover incarnations I can find it
p.s. so far Joan Jett is winning the cover game on this one, dang2 -
It makes me insane that the first few notes are cut off but sometimes we have to suffer for the good stuff
And this is the good stuff. Anathema, "Lightning Song"
I think I'm gonna be working through my favorite sad songs playlist today (@CanesGalactica I dunno if this is of interest or worth avoiding?)
