Maybe you could have your evening meal at 8, so you're still full later in the evening, which might help you have less snacks. You could try sugar free boiled sweets that take longer to dissolve as long as you're not tempted to crunch them. Ricola, Fruitella, Werther's and Chupa Chups have sugar free ranges that taste pretty good, and Chocologic does lower sugar chocolate bars and buttons.5

Maybe your deficit is too big? Do you eat back exercise calories? What are your stats? What is your goal?6

Look into intermittent fasting. Just have some water / coffee / tea in the morning. Have your first meal late morning or around lunch, and eat dinner later like others said.1 -
What time do you go to bed? (you call 8pm midnight so I assumed you go to bed early). I have dinner about 3-4 hours before bed (dinner is my biggest meal) and have another smaller meal straight before bed. I've always eaten like that.
In general I eat more than 50% of my calories in the 4 hours before bed.4
