Hello all, just trying this whole forum thing out.
A bit about me -
I served in the military for 7 years, and back then I maintained 205lbs around 14-18% body fat. I was also a full blown alcoholic, which kept me from reaching my full potential.
On my way out of the military I got diagnosed bipolar, put on meds, etc. Long story short, I quit lifting, ate like crap, and gained a ton of weight over the course of about 2 years. Around April, I decided to start lifting weights again, and cut way back on my drinking, but did not control my diet at first (I knew better, but but habits and all that). This led to my strength coming back pretty fast, but also tipping the scale at 301lbs. At that point, I decided I'd had enough, installed MFP, set my macros, put myself at a 1000cal deficit, went to the grocery store and bought basically all the stuff I knew I needed to eat. That was almost 2 months ago, and as of this morning I am 274.5. I figure 220 is the absolute maximum of my healthy range, so I've got 55lbs or so to go.
Anyways, I've been lurking a while and decided to finally make a post, maybe get some support and discuss fitness, workouts, diet, etc since I'm pretty much doing this on my own and my friends and family don't really care about this stuff.
