Yup...that's my goal. I want need to get to 1-8-5 and by doing it the right way. I've been working out on and off for the last several years but this time I've been slacking off for a while. I'm at 285 and quite obese (for a 5' 11" guy). I don't have everything planned and prepped. Just taking it one day at a time starting with today. I'm also looking at what I eat. No outside eating or taking in processed foods. Hopefully this site, the blogs, the messages, the boards etc. will help me deal with my addiction to food which got me at 285 in the first place.

I don't think addiction to food is a thing, but food fear and subsequent overeating, is. Not taking responsibility for bad eating habits, that is definitely a thing, and a thing you can change, by taking some time to plan meals and prepare for situations you know will happen, and that removes a lot of stress, which is smart if you tend to stress eat. There is no one right way to lose weight - unless you consider a calorie deficit the right way, but that's kinda mandatory.
