Mine's starting to turn off randomly, even with a fresh battery change. It's also started to dislike odd numbers. I fear it's on its last legs, and I want to have a backup anyways.
Anything that uses AA or AAA batteries preferred. Thanks peeps.

That teal one is to die for.0 -
I am pretty sure I wouldn't die for it, but the "Good Grips" OXO scale I have been using close to 5 years now is great. It can weigh things up to 5# and it has a pull-out display which is very handy for use with dinner-size plates. It's about $30 on Amazon now which seems like a lot, but then having used it multiple times during the day for all these years without any sign of it quitting soon makes me confident in recommending it as a quality product.2

That pull-out display sounds really handy. The bizarre issue it has with cell phones fascinates me.

Here is a two minute video review of the Ozeri scale from a MFP user. He places calibrated weights on the scale to test the accuracy and goes through the features. He purchased it from Amazon.

I purchased the same scale from Walmart dot com (free two day shipping for in store pickup)
I noticed is the price fluctuates between color and how many are in stock.

I have the Ozeri Pronto at home and the EatSmart precision at the office. Both work about the same- which is to ay great. I've had the Eatsmart since 2014 and haven't changed the batteries. They're not fantastic with a dinner sized plate, but not terrible either. If you're in a well lit room, just bend down and you can see the weight easily enough.1

I was looking at this one. I think the scale I have at home is on its last legs (one too many drops from the counter).

America's Test Kitchen has the OXO Good Grips scale (11 lb. version) as it winner in their testing of digital kitchen scales. They note that they recently released an updated version and will be retesting it soon. Here it is on Amazon.
I've been using mine for a couple years. Works great and have never had an issue.
They also highly recommend the Polder Easy Read Digital Kitchen Scale and the Ozeri Pronto Digital Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale as their best buy.1 -

Yes. I just put it in my Amazon cart for the next time I make a purchase.0 -

I love this one because it weighs to the .1 of an ounce. I'm a little obsessed with accurate weighing0
