I know a guy that wanted to add a food and it didn't come up for the public to search..

On the website there is a box you can check to allow it in the database. However from the phone I think it’s automatically put in the public database.0

Definitely serious and yep.

Now going to the website. I am logged out, but searching the food database it shows up right up top:
