Never had edamame before, time to expand my horizon.
Is the nutrition info on edamame based on gross weight (incl the inedible pods) or net weight (only the beans/peas)??

You can search the database specifically for “shelled edamame” or “edamame in shell.” You could also weigh the edamame in its shells, eat the edamame, and then weigh the shells.1

Everything I've seen in the USDA database is for edible portions only.
Unfortunately, the "verified" green check marks are used for both user-created entries and system entries. To find system entries for whole foods, I get the syntax from the USDA database and plug that into MFP.1
