This may seem like a silly question but I want to be sure I understand. Is the calorie count remaining after your goal minus food intake plus exercise the deficit? What’s a healthy deficit goal number? I read somewhere that you should be consuming more since you are burning more but that doesn’t seem right if you’re trying to drop some weight.

    The deficit is already taken off if you have set up your account for weight loss.

    Because MFP used the NEAT method to calculate your intake calories, it doesn't take into account any exercise, so yes if you're doing intentional exercise you should be eating more.

    If you have a Goal, eat that amount. The site does all the math. Eat until the bottom of your FOOD page says zero.
