Worst restaurant 'healthy' experience?

We eat out quite a bit, but we usually stick to chains... We went to a diner a couple months ago though and I ended up having a veggie omelet. Now that I think about it, it was probably way more calories than I thought if they sauteed the veggies...

Yesterday was the worst though. We went to a local restaurant, and the only semi healthy thing on the menu at first glance was salads... I was pretty hungry and really didn't feel like having salad. So I looked around, and found a 'lemon chicken and arigula' sandwich. I figured it wouldn't be that bad, for some reason I thought the chicken would be marinated and I didn't ask... the plate arrived and it was on a baguette totally covered in butter, with the Chinese style battered/fried lemon chicken. I didn't even touch it and picked from the kids' salad instead...

Anyone else got bad surprises when ordering? I've learned my lesson though... always ask questions...

I wasn't exactly trying to be healthy, I was having a "treat" and I split a milk shake with my husband. My Dad started looking up the calories for every shake. As he reeled off everyone else's, he was saying numbers like 750 and I was lije "phew, half of that isn't so terrible." Then he gets to mine. 1140. I somehow managed to pick the worst shake on the menu.

Normally, I look for words like "steamed" or "grilled" if calorie information isn't readily available. I used to order this southwestern style salad at a restaurant where I worked until I found out it was a complete calorie bomb. Something like 1200.
