So I have a question about tracking calories when I do strength training circuits and hiits. I obviously know I’m burning calories but there’s no way to know exactly how many calories do you guys track them or just set your activity level to active?

A fitness tracker with a heart-rate monitor can help, but they’re not totally accurate, especially for that kind of activity. Ultimately your best bet is to take your best guess, keep at it consistently for a month, and then see where you are, weight-wise. Over time you’ll be able to estimate the burn for individual workouts a bit more accurately, as long as you keep an eye on your intake along with your weight trend.

For HIIT, using a Wattbike or any bicycle (stationary or otherwise) with a power meter is about as accurate as you're gonna get.

Failing that I'm pretty sure chest strap HR monitor is your next best bet to start tracking and use that data to narrow down the inherent margin of error and hone in on the real figure.

Thanks guys I’m fairly new to counting calories. I’ve been able to get pretty good results by my routines and just eating clean but I decided I wanted to take it to the next level I just wanted to make sure I’m getting enough and doing this right/safe!
