Is there such a thing as drinking too much water to lose weight? because I started drinking about 100 ounces of water the other day and was wandering if that is too much.

Yes ... it's called hyponatremia.
It can kill you.
I don't know what an "ounce" is, but if you're drinking 2-3 litres, that's probably all right ... especially if you're consuming some electrolytes. You'd want to be careful with more than that.
Oh, and water won't help you lose weight. Not unless you're replacing a calorie-rich beverage with plain water.4 -
Drinking excessive amounts of water won't do anything for your weight loss apart from adding a few more steps for the extra trips to the bathroom.
Whether 100 oz is too little, just right or too much for adequate hydration is very personal and situational.
Colour of your urine and frequency of urination is your best guide.6 -
Drink water with food, after vigorous activity, and when you’re thirsty. There really shouldn’t be a need to measure it.5

A (fluid) ounce is about 30 ml, so 3 liters is roughly 100 fluid oz.3 -

There is, but you have to drink a LOT of it in a short time to have any adverse effects other than having to pee more often. The average person's kidneys can get rid of 800 ml to a liter per hour so drinking more than that per hour over an extended period of time can cause problems. If you drink a couple of liters per day, don't worry about it.3 -
There is such a thing as water toxicity, but it takes a LOT. For weight loss, it's helpful because it can decrease feelings of hunger, plus it's really good for your body.1

Are you drinking that much water because you're thirsty, or because you believe that you need to drink that much?
If you are so thirsty that you need to drink that much water in a day, and you aren't sweating excessively or have other obvious reasons for being very thirsty, then I would recommend seeing a doctor. Excessive thirst can be a symptom of diabetes.
If you simply believe that you need to drink that much water in order to lose weight, it's not true. Drinking water might help you feel full or help replace high calorie beverages, but in itself it does not cause weight loss.5 -
100oz is a little less than a gallon. I would try to drink about a gallon a day because if I don’t try, I’m drinking about a liter or less which isn’t good either. Course I’m then doing the pee pee dance 🏃♀️ ever hour 🤭😉0

I settled on about 70oz a day keeps my skin nice, not thirsty, lips don't need chapstick as much... I drink my morning coffee also, which probably counts for another 16oz, and there's not much room for anything other than the water rest of the time.0
