Any advice on how to slow down/stop the late night sweets cravings / crash dieting?

This diet comes with cravings.
You might find better success with a modest deficit.
This means feed the crave within reason.
There’s not that many calories in a single hard candy and you can take your time consuming it.3 -

Yeah, crash dieting suggests VLCD which is sort of a “no no” around here. Best to stay away from stuff like that at the risk of getting your question closed down or worse doing significant damage to yourself. And likely not having sustainable weight loss.
Slow, steady and maintainable are the key words for weight loss.1
