Hey! this may be the dumbest question you’ll ever see on here haha but anyways my question is, I’ve been makig kodiak cakes like everyday and i think i’m doing the serving size wrong. The serving size says “1/2 cup”. does that mean half a cup of just the mix before it’s mixed with water, or half a cup of the mix already mixed with water. because i could be eating double the serving size with out even knowing. thank you!

Does the package say as sold or as prepared? If it doesn't say as prepared it's usually as sold

1/2 cup dry. 53 grams by weight. I second the scale.

What everyone else said. And, I am having those for Sunday morning's breakfast!

1/2 cup refers to the dry powder only. It's a dry measure too, so I always weigh it, it's 56 grams if I remember it correctly.

When you figure out how you're going to measure it, check out mudhustler.com he has a bunch of recipes using Kodiak mix. I love his waffles!

This is a great question - first of all, you should measure it in grams, not by cups. Check out this video for why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpHykP6e_Uk&t=111s
Kodiak MIX is 190 calories for 53 grams as it's packaged. Anything you add is in addition to that. Adding water will change the weight but not the calories. If you use milk of course the calories and the weight will change.
Whenever you cook, weight the raw ingredients in grams first. You can still use cups to measure liquids.

    This...
    Food scale is a must.

Me, reading labels for 3 1/2 years did not pay attention the first time I made these. I followed the directions on the back, thinking it was one serving. After I ate all the pancakes I knew there was no way that was one serving. I then used my brain and read what one serving was. I like them though.
