Fit bit - calories burnt

Can someone tell me... I go to gym 4 times a week and yeah my Fitbit tells me when am on cardio or whatever but I do a lot of weight training and own body weight exercises and it doesn’t take these into factor where I am most breathing out my a** it really fratrates me because I come out and I’m like is that it? When I’ve done a really good work out and burnt more calories lifting that rubbish cardio

Lifting weights generally burns fewer calories than most forms of cardiovascular exercise. People don't lift for the calories, they lift to preserve muscle whole they lose weight, or to build muscle.2

Weight training can feel very intense, but it's not really because of how many calories we burn from doing it. The feeling is more strain than burn. Still worth doing, though, since muscle is so useful in daily life.1
