Plateau and time

I ask the following out of curiosity: has anyone had the situation where they hit a plateau in terms of strength/weight-loss/other-goal and found that the thing they needed to do was just spend more time working out?

There reverse happened to me. I was working out 6-7 days per week and started to plateau on my weight lifting. I then found the P.H.U.L program, dropped to 4 days per week, and I'm getting stronger again. I was certainly lacking rest for my body.1
