Where do you want your health journey to take you?

I would be happy to lose some weight but deep in my soul I want to become something more than just a weight loss success story. I am always fascinated by talented people. There's so much I want to learn on this journey. I feel like I could be someone extraordinary but I'm holding myself back. I want to learn to dance, to box, maybe even how to do a back flip. Maybe this is me chasing my childhood down and learning to do all the things I could never participate in. Maybe this is me never feeling like I am enough. Who knows? I do know I'm thirsty for something and it's to be the absolute best version of myself, and this girl I am, to credit, has come far, but not far enough. What is driving you?

I feel the same way. Do I want to lose weight? Absolutely! But maybe I want to be able to do incredible dead lifts... do a pull up, or 10! Be able to run a mile alongside my daughter. I don't just want to be skinny... I want to be fit, and STRONG!
Let's do great things!3 -
My dad is in his mid 50s. He surfs, jogs, goes on hikes.. he’s very active and I want to be active as well at that age. I want to be able to play with my son and grandchildren! Live long and healthy. This is my ultimate goal. My short term goal is to fit in all my cute dresses from January 2016. I gained weight that year due to depression and I’m still trying to lose it. From 125 to 180. Ive lost 20 so far. Got lots more to go!5

I want health and happiness for my kids and family. I have two kids under two and I want to teach them healthy eating and great lifestyle and exercise habits. I didn't have either of these growing up and I know how important it is now.2

I just want to live. I don't want to die. I was living my life as hard and fast as I could and then all of a sudden I got sick. I don't want to develop diabetes. I don't want to lose a foot. I don't want to go blind. Both of my sons are autistic, and my oldest son is severe and he is going to need me for the rest of my life. I can't take care of him if I don't have a leg or die of kidney failure. I want to live to hopefully see grand babies one day. That's all that I want. I may never climb a mountain or learn to ski, but I want to be there for every birthday.3

I want to manage my circulation issues. The veins in my legs collapsed under the strain of carrying me when I was obesity level 3. I had almost three months of antibiotics (I worry that too many flare-ups will lead to my developing a resistance to certain ones), a weeping wound that wouldn't heal, and daily nurse visits to change the dressing. There's no way to repair the damage, but weight loss (and compression stockings) can keep it under control and reduce flare-ups.
I've gone from huffing and puffing from taking three flights of stairs and a brisk clip to finishing my first 5K in 28:17 (51st place out of 500 overall, but 1st place among the 32 women in my age bracket) and from struggling with a pair 12lb dumbbells to being on-track to start lifting 30s in a couple of weeks. And for me—uncoordinated, klutzy, me—to get that far is something. I'm probably never going to run a marathon or bench press twice my body weight, but that's okay. I'm in better shape than I've ever been and I want to stay that way.2 -
I would like to cut down to around 10-12% bodyfat, and then begin a slow/lean bulk while training strongman events. I do have some injuries that will likely set limits on me that would keep me from competition level strength, but I like the training style nonetheless.1

I am a long distance cyclist.
I gained a bit of weight during a move to a hilly area and suddenly found I couldn't do the long distance rides within the time limits.
I worked hard, lost the weight, regained fitness and in 2016 I cycled rides up to and including a 400 km randonnee in about 25 hours including all breaks.
I also cycled up Mt Wellington twice ... once a short route, once a long route.
It's good to still be a long distance cyclist.2
