Weight loss after c section

Hi, I have had a c section a week ago. I need to lose 10kg by Feb for a wedding. I have lost weight before but I always did it with a combination of diet and exercise. This time I cannot exercise due to the stitches and lack of childcare arrangements. Has anyone lost weight by managing food alone? If so do you mind sharing your diary?
Thanks

Ouch. Ok, FIRST you are a week out from major surgery and you have a brand new little one to care for. Weight loss is so so so back burner right now!
Second, of course it's possible to lose weight through diet alone. You just eat appropriately for your activity level.
Third, the world will not end if you don't lose 10kg by February. Please, heal and bond with your baby right now. That's what really matters.22 -
I agree with PP, this is not the time to be stressing about weight loss. It will take you at least 4-6 weeks for your abdominal wound to heal and exercise is a definite no-no until you get signed off by a dr, and anything resembling a sit up is a don't do for 6 months. Give yourself time to heal. Please do not get fixated on this, you have so many other important things to worry about, healing, bonding, getting used to your new normal.
Also, and I hope this doesn't come across too strong, no one will care that you may be slightly bigger than usual. You just had a baby. Eyes will be on bubs or the bride.7 -
Once you are recovered from surgery you can start walking. I lost aot of weight post c section initially just by diet then added in walking until I could finally exert properly3

Are you breastfeeding? That’s a consideration. It’s probably a good idea to check with your doctor about both calorie consumption and exercise. At this time the health of your baby and yourself is the most important thing.
Congratulations on the your baby! Enjoy every minute of this time, it is so fleeting!5 -
After my last c-section, I lost about 15 kilos in a year or so and ended up being definitely underweight by just breastfeeding and eating as I normally would. Exercise was mainly walks with the baby in a carrier and nothing hardr than this. Unless you have water retention still from the surgery, 10 kilos in less than 4 months is not a realistic goal.0

I typed out a long and thoughtful reply then pressed the wrong button and lost it!
The main thing I said was that speaking to your dr about your weight loss goal is the best bet for you and your little one.
All the best!0
