And we wait...6 hours on low. 😋 Chicken, red onions, bell peppers, and a homemade marinade. ocuefllembxl.jpeg

    No stew is complete without potatoes! Other than that, looks amazing.

    It looks good and healthy, but too hot for stews (for me) yet. Something to keep in mind and prepare in a couple of months.
    @DivaKay64
    Did you use chicken breasts? It looks like you did.

    @amusedmonkey
    Sweet potatoes go very nicely with stews too.

    Not for me. Sweet potatoes ruin anything they come in contact with. They're just too sweet for my taste.

    It's probably not typical but I've never had summer food/winter food. I use my oven/crock pot year round; even when It's 100+ degrees.

    I'm with you. I love sweet things but there's something off about the sweetness of sweet potatoes.

    I don't use my crock pot too often. Don't ask me why. I just don't, specially in the summer which are very hot where I live. And since our winters are very, very mild, we mostly eat "summer food" all year round.
    However, I do like a nice stew or a pot roast done in the crock pot in December or January. And yes, my husband and I prefer yams/sweet potatoes rather than regular potatoes. Sorry folks ;)

    I'm an equal opertunity casseroler- I put in both sweet and white potatoes.

    Roast beef, carrots, onions, and potatoes, with cabbage (English has to be boiled) and gravy tonight.

    I love having seasonal meals, it means I get excited when its steak BBQ time and excited when it is stew time.

    @Gisel2015, if I lived where you do I don't know if stews would appeal to me as much.

    Cheers, h.

    Gisel2015 yes I used chicken breasts. And it was good but would have been better with pineapple. 😊 I love both kinds of potatoes but i dont do a lot of them because my nutritionist has me on a low carb low fat high protein diet.

    I like the idea of adding pineapple (canned after cooking maybe?) and cabbage like @middlehaitch said. I think that I need to write down this recipe because I usually make stew or pot-roast for Christmas since we have the turkey in Thanksgiving. Everybody had good ideas.

    Tonight was roast beef, yellow potatoes in their skins, carrots and onion stewed in the crockpot.
