My uncle had one of those procedures years ago and lost a good chunk of weight (initially). Since it basically makes you lose by starvation a good amount of his weight is back. He never dealt with the actual issues that made him obese in the first place PLUS he has issues related to the surgery where he eats as much as he used to and then vomits because there's just no room for it. It's gross and disrupts family functions at times.
