So I've been having a hard time staying on track when I get low blood sugar. Are any of you guys diabetic or have hypoglycemia? How do you deal with low blood sugar episodes ? Any advice? Thanks in advance

Hi, what do you typically eat for breakfast, and at what time of the morning do you eat, then deal with low blood sugar?1

Hi there, i have hypoglycemia. What helped me the most was increasing my protein, I found out I was not getting nearly enough. MFP really helped me to keep track day to day of how much protein I was getting, I always try to hit the minimum requirement. However I don't really enjoy eating protein, so some days I just have to force myself to chug a protein shake. It really does help with the shakiness and nausea, and the added bonus of feeling full. I really like the brand Premier Protein, the caramel flavor reminds me of cookies and its only 160 calories with 30 grams of protein. Hope you feel better soon!3

I have hypoglycemia and the only way I can keep my blood sugar steady throughout the day is to keep my carbs low. It's the carbs that cause the sugar to spike and then drop. Less carbs = no shakiness or nausea for me.1

While you might get good advise here, I suggest you ask your doctor for a referral to a dietitian (not a nutritionist if you are in the US.)2
