Hello. I have been using MFP for a while now. Not sure when I started, maybe 2013? Anyhoo, I lost about 183 lbs and then ... well gained most of it back. My mom passed away 2 years ago September and I didn't want to do anything but sit on the couch and eat comfort food. This year I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees. My dr told me I may need surgery, so I'm trying to lose weight enough to put back that surgery hopefully indefinitely. I started redoing MFP last winter and now go to the Y and a local gym. Started slow with recumbent bike and swimming. I'm down 33 lbs and my knees are much better now. Anyone else have OA and started exercising for that?

I am sorry for the loss of your Mom. But am so happy you started back on the path of health.
I have bounced back and forth and at a ripe old age of 71 am back trying to hold myself accountable to drop about 15-20 pounds.
