Fitbit steps vs exercise

If I walk at a quick pace 3.5 and I do that for 40 min do I count that as 40 min of exercise in addition to the tracking my fit bit put on my daily journal? Seems like a double dip if I put down the time since the steps were counted but the steps equal 40 calories in adjustment whereas the time at a quick pace is closer to 150 calories. Help?

It would be double dipping so don't add.
Not all of the walk added calories because MFP already includes some steps in the activity setting, even for sedentary.0 -

Sync your FitBit to MFP and forget about adding walks. It's a pedometer, it can handle this type of exercise. Syncing compares your stated activity level to your actual activity level.
