does sugar make you gain or keep fat?

I’ve been in a calorie deficit, and my macros are all good. But i still am looking a little chubby. Is it the sugar? between fruits and halo top i’m getting about 75-90 grams of sugar. which is very very much. But i used to consume like 140 grams of sugar a day. Is this the reason i’m keeping fat? I’m a lower weight than i once was but look about the same.

No, sugar doesn't do this any more than any other food but I agree with the above - I can't see how you could be chubby.

No. Sugar is irrelevant. The problem is more likely self perception. If you have more fat mass than you'd like at that weight consider recomposition (https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10177803/recomposition-maintaining-weight-while-losing-fat). That will require eating at maintenance calories.
I'm 5'5", used to be 5'6" when young, and weighed 113 at one point, after being ill. I'm very narrowly built, but 113 was skinny, skinny, skinny. I think it's very unlikely that you're chubby.
Given this and other posts, please consider consulting a counselor to see whether your body image is realistic. Granny-type that I am, I truly care, and would like to be sure that you're healthy and thriving.9 -
Why would you post this again? You had many answers already. Are you looking validation sugar makes you fat?If you want that look up Dr.Berg and get it over with or..... listen to people like the posters above that keep up with current SCIENCE based research.3
