I have never seen them in a regular store. Do you have a place like Play It Again Sports? It's a secondhand store for sports equipment. Maybe try it?0

Secondhand stores, like jemhh said. You may luck out. Or, amazon has them.

Keep increasing your reps at 15 to 1.5 to 2 times your usual. Example, If you usually do 10, work up to 15-20.Then start on the 20s, even if it's only 1 or 2 reps. Do one set of 15s at higher reps and 1-2 sets of 20s at low rep until you build up the volume on the 20s.
I use DB handles and small plates so I can micro adjust. I found all at Goodwill over a period of time.
You could check out Platemate add on magnets. At 1.25 lb each you can add 2.5 lb per DB. They're not cheap, but can used to help you with any incremental progression, like 20-25 etc,

Do you have weighted cuffs (ankle or wrist weights) and wrap them around your wrists. That would give you extra resistance. If you can't be bothered, you could just do more reps or slower more controlled reps.0

If I recall correctly, I found mine at The Treadmill Factory in Toronto.0

If you feel you’re going to need that weight enough to buy a set, Rogue sells them.
Another option is to get a set of dumbbell handles (mine are 3lbs each) and then use weight plates for whatever in between weight you need. 15lbs of plates makes an 18 lb dumbbells, 20 lbs of plates makes 23, etc.1 -
Sorry, but have you tried doing a search for 17.5 lb dumbbells?0

You probably would have to get the small weight bar and get single weights like you get with a weight bench set. Good luck0

Haha no worries - I searched on Amazon but every time I searched for 17.5 it gave me 12.5 options0 -
Amazon has plenty of 18 lb dumbbells0

Have you looked at the Bowflex adjustable weights? A bit of an investment, but gives you everything from 5# to 55# in one compact set. Stopped the need to buy new ones when I moved up, and my husband and I can now use the same weights. I also liked that they have a safety lock feature to prevent the kids from using (and dropping) them. You can probably find some on craig's list - just check to make sure the plates lock the way they should.1

I didn’t ask before I searched for myself. While I did find some on Amazon, I didn’t start the search there. Here’s one: https://www.sportsunlimitedinc.com/york-rubber-hex-175-lb-dumbbell.html

Dumbells are great for pump and definition. But I also ran into this problem, most of the time 5lb increments min. Even with 1" mini plate dumbells. So you can add an extra set at 15 and/or small set at 20 with a 15 or 12 drop set on the end. Use volume to build strength instead of weight until you push thru. For the record, I have nearly every dumbell from 2.5lb to 100lb. I have never seen a 17.5lb in a store or even looked for one.0 -
PowerBlock adjustable dumbbells allow you to increase in 2.5# increments.0
