No-peanut dipping sauce
I replaced peanut butter and peanut oil with almond butter and almond oil in a recipe for a dipping sauce to go with spring rolls. OMG it is delish! A friend who eats peanut sauce said it was excellent sub.
Recipe For the no-peanuts crowd:
1 TBS almond oil
2 cloves garlic minced
Sauté 1 min.
Remove from Heat.
Stir in:
1/2 cup almond butter (I used the one with a little coconut in it)
1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce
1 to 2 TBS Sambal Olek (or sriracha) to taste
3+ TBS water
Add enough water to reach desired consistency.
I came up with 137 calories per TBS and with care , I got three shrimp spring rolls happily dipped per TBS.
